EXAMPLE OF THE PROGRAM (5DAYS):
Day 1. DEPARTURE FROM HVAR TOWN
We sail from Hvar across the Vis channel to the north shore of Vis island. Vis is the most outerly lying larger Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea. Its turbulent history goes back in the time of Neolithics, through Greek period to the time when Venice was governing the island. After the 2nd WW it was closed for public, because it use to be a military base of Yugoslav army… That changed after Croatia got its independence and today Vis island is proud of limpid waters and protected submarine world rich with sunken ships and magic marine images that has been hidden for years …
We will stop on some sandy beaches before we go to the port of Vis in the late afternoon...
Day 2. VIS - SCEDRO
From Vis town we will start our tour towards Korcula. On the way we will stop on island Scedro. A small island with deep safe bays in the Channel between Hvar island and Korcula. Around 30 people live on the island in the summer. The old settlements of Mostir and Nastane are now largely abandoned, except for restaurants and other tourist facilities during the summer season. An interesting thing to visit are the ruins of the Dominican monastery in the bay of Mostir, founded, together with a hospice for sailors, in 1465, and abandoned in the 18th century.
We will spend the overnight anchored in the bay. Night under the stars, away from city noises and lights... In the bay there are several small restaurants where you can have dinner.
Day 3. SCEDRO - KORCULA
We set off sailing from the quiet and relaxed settings of Scedro island to Korcula town.
The old city is surrounded by walls, and the streets are arranged in a herringbone pattern allowing the free circulation of air while at the same time offering protection against strong winds. Korcula is tightly built on a promontory that guards the narrow sound between the island and the mainland. Building outside the walls was forbidden until the 18th century, and the wooden drawbridge was only replaced in 1863. All of Korcula's narrow streets are stepped with the notable exception of the street running alongside the southeastern wall. The street is called the Street of Thoughts as one did not have to worry about the steps. We will stay overnight in marina in Korcula.
Day 4. KORCULA - MLJET
After breakfast we will continue our sailing from Korcula to Mljet island. Mljet is the most southerly and easterly of the larger Adriatic islands of the Dalmatia region of Croatia. The National Park is at the western part of the island, covering an area of 54 km 2, including Veliko jezero (The Great Lake), Malo jezero (The Small Lake), Soline Bay and a sea belt 500m wide from the most prominent cape of Mljet. The central parts of the park are Veliko jezero with the Isle of St. Mary, Malo jezero and the villages of Govedari (179 inhabitants), Polače (123 inhabitants) and Pomena (50 inhabitants). We give you a unique swimming in the beautiful lush coves of Mljet and an overnight at Polace bay. During the day you can visit the National park lakes.
DAY 5. MLJET - DUBROVNIK
If you don't have any more time to spend cruising from an island to island, then this itinerary finishes in Polace. From Polace there is a fast early morning catamaran line arriving to Dubrovnik in less than 2h.
